When it rains….

rain1

How does the old saying go, “When it rains, it pours?”  Crickey!!  Well, I just need to let everyone know that we did not win the lottery last night.  Its now the biggest it has ever been!  It is estimated at $700 million on Saturdays drawing.  Yes, we will have a ticket for it. Even if we won a few thousand from it – we would be happy.

Hubby heard something happen within his truck last night on the way home from work.  We didn’t think too much about it.  This morning, we got up and had to run to the store to put petro into the truck and stop at the grocery.  We needed a few staples for the condo and was just making a quick trip.  We started off on our little adventure and I saw hubby get this “look” on his face.  What?  He didn’t say anything.  We got to the very first redlight and he started slowing way before we got to it.  When we stopped, he looked at me and said, “Our breaks are out.”  We are in a truck that weighs over 5000lbs. If we hit someone from behind – we are going to do major damage. We get to the gas station and put a little gas in the big ole red beast.  Then we pull right over into the parking lot of Auto Zone.  We looked over everything and could see oil pouring on the back driver tire.  The cashier came out, looked at the rear tire and told us the caliper was blown!!

Great!  Just flipping great!  So, we had to give our car back to the bank and now we have a truck that cannot be driven until it is fixed – which we don’t have the money to fix it right now. It probably will not be until the end of this month before we have the money to have  it fixed.  That means that the money we were going to use to purchase me a not-so-new-but-new-to-me car will have to be used for the truck. UGH!!!  If it is not one thing it is another.  We literally have no way to go.  A guy that hubby started training class with is going to let him ride with him to and from work, but I am not sure if that is just for this week and next or what.   But hey – at least my migraine is gone!

On top of it, our phones will be turned off next week.  Will need to figure this one out.  I am so mad right now. We have worked so hard and so long at trying to keep everything going and on and now that we are in the flipping home stretch – its all going to you know where!  I know we were on borrowed time and were really lucky that we were able to go this long.  We definitely had lots of help over this past year and we appreciate it all.

Ok, I think I am going to go bury my head somewhere and lick my “wounds” for the rest of the day.  I am so ready for changes to come.  Once again, thanks for reading.

What a bummer! So sorry to hear about your misfortune. Hopefully you will win the lottery. If I win, I will buy you a new truck! You have it in writing now…Lol! Good luck!

lol, thank you!! I am praying for that lottery ticket to come through for us. It sure would make a difference in a lot of lives. I would take some of it and open a non profit for single moms to help them with rent, etc. I refuse to let it get me down!! These misfortunes do not define us and will not keep us here either. Heads are held high and we keep striving to be debt free.
