Cold weather.

I do hope everyone is staying warm. We ventured out for a little bit today to get a few things at the store. When we were out, the temps were 50, with 20-22mph winds and reports that it felt like 37 degrees. We arrived back at our little condo on wheels and have not left at all. It is almost 10pm, and the temps are 44. Reporting that it will get to 34 tonight. The wind has slowed to 14mph and it feels like 39. Sorry for the weather report. I just want to express what it is like living in our little “condo” without heat. We are drinking hot tea, have ourselves in warm clothing and have the little portable heater going non-stop. Right now, we are warm. But it is not the coldest it will get tonight. It’s going to be long and it looks like hubby and I will be in the chairs in the living room sleeping tonight. :D. There have been reports that North Florida had snow flurries earlier today. Can’t wait to see if it happens again in the morning. Have a great night everyone. Thanks for reading.

I was just wondering why the furnace in your camper can’t be turned on. Maybe yours is different, but ours will run on either electricity, or gas (propane). That helps us stay warm. We do have a small space heater that we use when we are not camping to keep the camper dry so we don’t get mold or mildew. It sounds like that is what you are using right now. It’s good you have something to heat it up in there!

I have noticed that our camper heats up quickly with any activity, such as cooking, or when the heater is running. The same unit air conditions the camper as well when it’s hot. Are you going to be super hot in the summer? Or does your air conditioner work?

It sounds like you are missing some sleep trying to keep warm, and that’s too bad. Hopefully, you can get through this trying time and figure out a solution that will be a little easier.

I am not really sure if it is gas or electric. I know our air (which works awesomely) runs off electric. Before we brought our camper to FL, we took it to my life-long friends store (she owns an RV store in my hometown selling RVs, supplies and even has a service area for them) and had them do a complete work up on the camper. She told us that the heater did not work – period! When she told us this – I was in the midst of grief since my dad had just passed and it was his camper. I do not remember exactly why it does not work, but it does not work. We are ok with it. We knew that we would get a cold spell, just didnt know it would get as bad as it has. We are staying warm with our little portable electric heater, I just dont feel safe leaving it plugged up overnight without supervision. My lack of sleep is probably more self imposed. lol I am a mom, I guess you can say I am accustomed to little to no sleep. lol

Sorry, i had to go and put the clothes in the dryer. lol On top of everything (loss of job, both of us having our dads pass among other things) it was just more money to have it fixed than what we had or still have.

It got pretty cold here, too, and the snow was a real treat for the kids! They attempted to make snowballs and snowmen with about 1/2 inch of snow! lol It was all melted by early afternoon. Then, yesterday we were back up to almost 60 degrees. Gotta love the south! 😉 Stay warm!

LOL I would have too!! Its always fun to play in snow, no matter how little you get. My mom, in TN, got about 8.5 inches. We are going to be up to 70 today. I absolutely hate this because the warm/cold is what brings on sickness. Hubby and I are already feeling the scratchy throats. Yes, we are downing a lot of green tea. lol

LOL, it is!! You would think, by the way mom talks, that they were hit with 8 FT instead of 8 inches. lol
