Shell Gas Stations are off limits for me

Well, that is until I have a good reason to utilize them again.  You know, like the owner of the one I went to the other day will have to reduce his price!  So, after I posted about my encounter, I decided to write an email to Shell Corporate.  So far, this is what they  have sent back:

Please accept our apology for any inconvenience you experienced at one of our locations.  Delivering world-class customer service is a high priority for Shell.  We are disappointed when we fail to meet your expectations, and we believe the experience you had is an exception to the way Shell branded retailers typically operate.

Our review indicates your experience occurred at one of our independently owned and operated locations.  Please be assured that we have formally recorded your feedback and the appropriate party will be notified.  Customer feedback helps us to identify opportunities for improvement.

In line with this, are you willing to  share your contact information (i.e. name, phone number and email address) in case the local corporate office wants to get in touch with you regarding this matter?

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns.  We value your patronage and hope you will continue to choose Shell’s quality products.  If you have additional questions, please contact Shell Customer Care toll-free at 1-888-GO-SHELL (1-888-467-4355) or send an e-mail to shellcustomercare@shell.com.

It appears, to me, as a very generic email as they pass it off to someone else. We will see what happens!!

Hubby received a message from the govt agency the other day that he had to do a drug test for them.  Second one within a week. lol  He passed the first for Disney (as if he wouldnt!!). hehehe  Now he has been scheduled for a physical on Sunday.  Yup, on Mothers Day.  The only thing that he is scared of is that is A1C was a little elevated when he went to have blood work done a few weeks ago. He has his diabetes meds now and its getting under control, but that could make him fail the physical.  Prayers on this issue please!  He is still really questionable on which job he should take if both offered.  With Disney, he will be able to get  up to 30 hrs a week overtime, which will be a really good paycheck and help us pay off a lot of things.  The govt agency – no overtime!  The pay is good, but not as good as Disney.  Also, the govt agency states in the info when filling out the application that one does not get insurance until after the employee has been with them for a year.  With Disney, he would have benefits after 90 days. Needless to say, we will have major decisions ahead of us.

Got a lot to do today. Thanks for reading my rambling thoughts. Have a great day!  We are sunny and around 80 today, so all is well.

indeed! Disney job sounds like a winner in my opinion. I really wish you both good luck and hope you get what you want. Hard workers deserve to be happy. We really should not even be using oil any more. There are so many other alternatives – I’m a climate change activist in my other life. So I support your no go shell even if it is for an entirely different reason 😀 I do understand you don’t have wings or a broom 😉 ha only joking – to get you from a -b

Oh my gosh – how did you know? My other mode of transportation is, indeed, a broom!! HAHAHAHA Well, at least my ex thinks it is. I would love to have an electric car. I really hate what we are doing to our environment. BUT, every place is just too far to get to on our bikes. I would ride it everywhere if I could. Thank you on your input with the job situation. I am leaning more toward Disney as well. I think hubby is too. Its up to him, he is the one who will need to do it every day. He tells me, “I dont care what I need to do as far as work. I want to be paid what I am worth, or close to it, and I want to take care of you and son. You are my family and my responsibility.” I have told him that I could work, but then our son would be put into school, etc.

I know. So many choices, all with plusses and minuses! Insurance is good, but I’ll bet the govt. one has retirement…….Yikes! Hopefully, he can get his HBA1C down.

I am not sure. I think he is leaning toward Disney. The other is really stressful and might be harder for him to complete his Masters. Plus, Disney would give the overtime and help us get out of our financial situation quicker.

Who knows!! lol Its going to be a tough one to make. He is working on the HBA1C. It will come down!

That’s a tough one to get down, especially when he’s under stress. Hopefully, he can get a job soon so he can feel less stressed! Then, the numbers should come down.

I didnt even think about stress being a factor. He has been testing his levels twice a day and they are already down to the normal range. The HBA1C should come down. I read that it takes about 3 months for it to come down 1%. I think the level is ok where he is at for the DOT physical, but thats only from what I have read online. We will see! lol

That’s great. For me, stress is huge and impacts my sugars tremendously. I’m hoping mine come down when we get calmed down around here. Exercise helps mine stay down, as well, so I walk on the treadmill most nights. That’s another thing–there will be no treadmill in the camper, so I will have to change my habits and that will be a challenge. I’ll figure it out.

We have our bikes that we can ride, or we can walk, but hubby is so tired when he gets home. He is required to stand at the front of the dealership, all day, right now. He gets to sit down when he gets a customer. He told me last night, “My back is just killing me!” Exercise and healthy eating help both me and him. We just need to exercise more. Easier said that done sometimes. I guess when he starts working somewhere else, we can get more into a schedule.

I don’t think I’d like that job very much! I hope he gets another one very soon, and enjoys it more.

We have talked about if he does get Disney, that we would move our camper closer to that area. Right now, we are about 25 minutes away. From the information on the job description, it is a year before they will give you benefits at the other place. He is really wanting Disney!! We need to get together. Son was asking about playing with the kiddos the other day. And yes, Disney is our happy place. lol
