Busy morning

I have been busy this morning. I picked up a little around the “condo” and got son started on school work. I know, I know – its Saturday.  What we are doing is having him do school on the same days his dad is working.  This is a way where we can spend hubbys days off with him and not be tied down school work OR get behind.  Yes there was a lot of grumbling. lol  I expected it.

Hubby came home just dog tired yesterday.  The uniforms they have them in, well the pants are made of wool.  Who the heck planned that??  We are in FLORIDA!!  I went and got him a Gatorade yesterday to take with him today.  The part he is learning today and for the next few days will require him to be outside all day.   I am going back today to get him more Gatorade.  He called during his lunch break and I could tell he was exhausted.  Thankfully, his job will not require him to be outside all the time.

If you have voted for my son on this little contest – thank you.  He is now in 4th place with only 3 more days.  It would be nice for him to win because not only will he win a new pair of shoes (hehehe), but they will have him as a model for a short time in their print advertisements.  This would be awesome to put on his resume.  You can go to:  HERE TO VOTE.   You will need to have facebook to vote.

On another note, our friend was cast as Grunge the Tattoo Artist on “The Do-Over” with Adam Sandler.  It comes out today (I think) on Netflix.  Our friend, Tim was so cute. He texted me this picture back when the movie was filming and said, “Do not post this at all until it is ok, but I wanted lil man to see it.”  He calls our son lil man. hehehe  We havent gotten Netflix yet, but we are going to soon.  This is one of the first things we will watch.  Tim knows that son absolutely LOVES Adam Sandler.  If you watch Sleepy Hollow, you might have recognized him from the first show of the last season during the prison shot.  He was cell mates with Ichabod Crane.  Tim and Adam in the Do-Over

I am sure you may have already seen this, but a few days ago, a car was carted off by the Police for illegally parking in Key West.  I totally want one!  It looks kinda like they took a golf cart and converted it.  But I LOVE it. lol  They have not released the owners name.  I wonder if it is Fred?  My lil man is starving, so I guess I need to feed him.  Thank you all for reading and have an awesome weekend.

Raindrops keep falling on my head…..

What a beautiful day today.  The sun is out, it is warm and we do not need to worry about rain.  The last day and a half, we were plagued with rain, rain and more rain.  The night before, I woke up to our lil doggie sitting on my pillow, in front of my face, shaking uncontrollably. Poor lil guy.  We might need to take him to the vet to see if there is any anxiety meds they can give him.  I have to admit – when it is really bad out – it scares me too.

I wet ahead and got up with him and turned on the TV.  I saw on the news that our weather was really bad and there was even hail in areas very near us.  One thing we noticed, or already knew, is that we still have leaks.  They are not as bad as they once were, but still a nuisance.  There is one that is above our heads in the bedroom area.  It drips down the wall and has gotten onto our mattress and pillows.  What I do with this is put big plastic sheets over everything that is against that wall.  Then I put dirty towels on it so that they can collect water.  During the day, we also moved the mattress about a foot away from the wall. Thankfully, this is the first time in months that this has happened.  We also noticed that there is a leak above our front door where an old antenna is at.  We have been trying to figure out if there is a way to remove and plug it up or cover it up, or something.  I had to put a small trash can under it to catch the water.  Then the last one was above our table.  Thankfully this was really tiny.  A small bowl was placed on the table to catch it, and it was probably the size of a tablespoon of water.  This one is where the slide out comes out.  I checked the other area where we have had leaks before, but there was none – thankfully!!  On his next day off, hubby is going to get up at the front and seal the area where the roof and camper meets. We hope that this might be good enough.  There is a lot of work that needs to be done on the camper  – but we just need the $$ to do so. lol

Hubby has been requested to do a drug test for the other company that he has put in an application for. This one is a government related company – so they drag their feet.  He would rather take that job over Disney because it would be a REALLY GOOD job.  Still not in the field he studies, but government work and great benefits.  He is afraid that he is going to start Disney and then a week later, or soon after, the other is going to come through.  He knows it wont look good to quit so soon to take another job. So he is in a quandary on what to do.  Guess its a good position to be in right now. lol  The other aspect of the govt job is that it would bring us back to an area near where we just moved from.  That part of it we are not so crazy about since the opportunities for son are where we are at now.  I know I can always travel back and forth for him, but the Interstate is very dangerous.

On to another subject.  Gas prices!  Yeah, I need to gripe about it today.  I know everyone thinks the price of gas is way too high where they are – and it is!  We have been paying about $2.15 per gallon in our area.  The other day I took son on an audition near the Disney area.  The gas stations around that area are notorious about having their prices a little higher because of where they are at.  I know this.  Thats why I do not stop at any of them.  Well, on the way to this audition, the gas light came on.  I told son that I was going to keep going because the hotel where the audition was at was a little off the beaten path.  I purposely did not want to stop near Disney and pay a higher price.  Heck – we dont have the money to pay a higher price right now.

I saw that there was a gas station right across from the “village” (3 hotels) area where the audition was at.  I pulled in, grabbed $5 out of my purse and went in to pay. I know, I know….I just wanted to put enough in to get back home. Plus, I didnt have much more than that with me.  Son and I walked in, told the guy what pump we were on and walked out. Another woman walked out with us and was complaining the whole time about how she wasnt going to pay their price.  I honestly did not look to see how much it was.  Well, her comments made me look!  Oh no, I am NOT paying that much!!  They wanted $5.99 PER GALLON!!  I wouldnt have even gotten enough to get a gallon.  So I walked my happy rear end back into there and told the guy that I wanted my money back.  Then I also added, “I cant believe you are charging $5.99 per gallon. That is robbery of our money and you are taking advantage of our tourist that come to our city.  Your management and owner should be ashamed of themselves! You can go a few blocks over and pay only $2.15.”  Then I walked out.  Another girl pulled up for gas when I was leaving and I asked her if she noticed the price of gas.  When she said no (she did like I did and assumed it was the same as everyone else) I politely told her that it was highly inflated and they are robbing anyone who purchases it when you can go a few blocks over and get it for $2.15.   So for all of my peeps around this area who want to know where NOT to go:  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Vineland-Shell/115969545131151

After looking up the gas station on-line – it appears as if this is normal for them and has been reported to the media for years.  One person actually paid $80 for a tank of gas.  CRAZY!!!  It is obvious – I do not go in this area very often. lol

Need to help son with school and then we are off to the pool I think!  Hope you are all having a beautiful day.  Thanks for reading.

What a day!

Yesterday was extremely busy.  It is the only day this week that hubby has off. We were trying to get things done that needed to be done. lol  It seems like we only accomplished a small fraction.

I had to go and pick up sons headshots from the printers.  The company that I use always do really well.  They are so professional and just really awesome people!  If you ever need professional pictures printed, go to Photoscan!  www.photoscanonline.com  The prices are really reasonable also!

After we picked the pictures up, we took son over to the Maile Image Model Acting school (www.lisamaile.com) so that we could give them a new picture of son to put on their wall.  This is the acting school that son has gone to and they take the headshots and place them on the wall in the hallways.  Son was so funny, he had to make sure his old one was still there.  They placed the new one over the old one. It was so nice to catch up with his teachers and ladies who own the school.

From there, we went to the post office and mailed headshots to one of sons agents.  Then we had to stop and get something to munch on.  After that, we received a phone call from Disney that they finally wanted hubby to go and take his drug test.  We had about 2 hours, so we came home and took a small nap.  I had the most nagging sinus headache and felt like that I just needed to close my eyes.

We got up and went to the place where the drug test would take place.  This is a Centre Care near Disney.  The lobby was extremely clean. There were not a whole lot of people waiting to see a doctor, so they were able to bring hubby back pretty quick.  It was a cute area too because they had it all decorated with Disney pictures.

That has been done and we eventually made our way to Walmart.  I found this nifty lil app on my phone where we can earn points just by walking into places. Then we scan items that they want us scan and earn more points.  No purchase necessary. Once we have enough points, we can turn them into different gift cards!  Hubby and I both put the app on our phones so that we both could earn points and gift cards. The app is called Shopkick.  You can sign up by going to http://get.shopkick.com/edge73726  I am all about free money!!  The payout is not huge, but I like that you do not need to purchase to earn points. This was not too terribly time consuming!

Finally we were home and had dinner and decided to just settle down for the night. I watched movies with my two guys!  The dog thought we were disturbing him though!  lol  What a dogs life!!

We have lots of school work to catch up on since we took yesterday off. I am also really tired because it started raining – REALLY HARD – around 5amish.  Leo completely freaked out and climbed onto my pillow and laid in front of my face. UGH!! lol  Needless to say, I couldnt sleep and was up with him. More about the rain issues tomorrow.  Thank you for reading and have an awesome day.

Flashback Friday!

I wanted to do a Flashback Friday to go along with my post from yesterday.  My baby just isnt a baby anymore.  I looked back at some pictures and just remembered all those little moments.

Of course – I slept through his birth. hehehe  Yup, sure did.  He was a big ole baby and they had to do c-section for him to be born.  10lbs 2 oz later and we have this precious little baby.  BabyZach1

I remember all his little characters that he liked on TV.  Since we are flashbacking…. does anyone remember Hong Kong Phoey?  HKFueyDid I spell that right? lol  He was my favorite.  I remember that when son was 2 yrs old, he would crawl in-between hubby and I early in the morning. I would turn the TV onto the Disney Channel and he LOVED to watch Mickey Mouse Club House.

This is what he looked like when he was about 2.  I asked my aunt to take some photos of him and this is one of them.  She had the little angel wings (probably still does) and thought they would be perfect.  We were at the State Park near the town where we lived at in TN.  Thinking back now, maybe she should have had some little horns we could have put on his head too.  lolangel baby

We moved to the Florida area not long after he turned 3.  We both had lived in Florida before he was born.  We  met in Florida.  We moved to the TN area right before he was born.  While it is beautiful there – we prefer Florida more. pirate This was taken on a pirate ship tour not long after we first moved back to Florida. It was his first time on a large boat and he was more interested in looking out toward the water than what the “pirates” were doing. lol

We knew then that we had to get him on a bigger ship!!

Our next adventure with him was to take him on the Carnival Sensation.  We decided on doing that one since it was a weekend cruise.  I did not know if he was going to be able to handle the motion or if he was even going to like it.  We lived on the West coast of Florida at the time and this one sailed out of Port Canaveral – on the East coast.  We stayed in Orlando the night before and headed out the next morning.  Oh the sounds that were coming from the back seat when son saw the ship for the first time.  He would just giggle and giggle.  We got him all checked in and onto the ship.  Had lunch and then brought him up to the top deck so that he could look around.  We had a cool day that day and all of us had to wear jeans and sweaters.(It was mid-December and the ship was decorated for Christmas)  Look at Mr. Cool laying there like he owns the whole ship!!!  zachSensationThis trip is when I was able to get a first hand view of how well Camp Carnival was with our kiddos.  He wanted to be at Camp more than he wanted to be with us!!  They also had a Christmas program with Camp Carnival and brought son on stage to be part of it.  Stage

Little did I realize back then that he was getting his first shot of acting and would want to be on stage MORE. hehehe

Well, thank you for letting me go back in time. I miss my lil man being little!  But I LOVE him growing and showing his personality to me.  Hubby has received 2 really good phone calls today.  I dont want to jinx it just yet, but hopefully soon we will have something to share.  Thank you all for reading  and have a fantabulous Friday!!

The Perpetual Campers

It is going to be kinda quick today.  I am trying to get ready, get son ready and get out of here. Son has an audition today for a commercial.  Keeping fingers crossed!!

I have been faced with the fact that my little boy is growing up.  Yeah, I already knew it…….but I didnt want to face it!  I mean, this is the lil guy that I would hold in my arms while he went to sleep.  I would do everything for him.  I would wash him, change him, feed him.

But he is not a baby anymore and hasnt been for a long time.  Of course, like I said, I knew this.  He has grown so much in the past year.  It was almost like one morning we woke up and his clothes no longer fit him.

So what was it that really brought this revelation to me lately?  His flip flops!  The other day I needed to walk outside and couldnt find mine quickly.  I saw his and thought, “Hmmmm, I can slide his on and know that at least some of my foot will be covered on the bottom.”  In goes my foot.  OH MY GOSH – they fit.  PERFECT!!  They were not too small or too big.  I cannot believe that my lil man has the same size foot as his grown mom!  Just to verify – I took a picture of one of my flip flops and one of his flip flops side-by-side!

I will need to be careful.  I will blink my eyes soon and he will be completely grown!  Running out the door!!  Have an awesome day and thanks for reading.

Its all in a salad.

I so didnt want to get  up this morning.  Not for a while anyway.  Hubby had to run to the grocery because we were out of half and half and needed that for our coffee addiction. lol  While there, I told him to go ahead and pick up a cucumber and purple onion.

I was thinking all day yesterday, while sitting at the filming set, just what was I going to do with those little tomatoes that I picked the other day.  Thats when it hit me that I could make a summer salad.  Not one with lettuce, but just tomatoes, purple onion and cucumber.

This morning, I took all the tomatoes and halved them.  We had nibbled on a few through the last few days.  Wish we would have had a few more to add to my salad.  I took the purple onion, sliced it in half and then thinly sliced and added to the tomatoes. I then took the cucumber and sliced it in half and cut into more halves.  That was added next.  I took about a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar and added to about 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and shook those two together.  Once they were mixed, I added it to my tomato mixture.  I also added about a teaspoon of Cayenne pepper, a half teaspoon of pepper and salt, a dash of dill, parsley and dried cilantro.  I also added a single serving pack of truvia.  I like it to be spicy and a little sweet – but not overbearing.  I put this all into a bowl that as a top.  I put the top on it and  shook it really well.

Finished product!!  So yummy for my tummy, so yummy, so yummy!

Poor hubby was confused and asked if that was breakfast. HAHAHA  No silly, its for lunch!!  I dont know why, but after 13 years, I am not sure if I have ever made this for him.  He asked for a bite – just to make sure it was good.  We both took a small bite then I put it in the fridge to cool.  Its best to me if it chills before eating.  It passed the husband test and this is what we will have for our lunch today.  This will make my tummy a happy girl!

We might go to the pool after lunch today.  Other than that, its going to be a lazy day.  Son told me last night, “Mom, I am tired.”  I asked him why he was so tired.  “Because mom, I worked hard today!”  I told him that for most of the day, he was sitting in a school desk being filmed.  His response, “Yeah, but thats hard work!”  He had a blast filming the last few days.  The director came to me yesterday when we got there and told me just how well he thought son did the day before. He was really happy with the few lines that son did say and thought he was great at improvising.  He thought son has a funny personality and should continue to follow his dreams.  He came to me after filming and reiterated it for me. I also had another person come to me and tell me the same thing and tell me that I REALLY need to branch out to other areas (other states) and see if we can find representation there.  So, in the next week or so, I will probably start shopping his headshots out to other places.  She is like the 20th person in the business to tell us that.  I know that it was a student film, but it was really nice to have someone verify what we have either already be told or have been feeling.

Well, I am going to go and spend time with my two favorite guys!  Hope you all have a great Sunday and thanks for reading.

The Perpetual Campers

Hi everyone. This one will be quick today.  I am at our second day of filming for my son.  He was called into a student film on Thursday for filming today and yesterday. He is an extra – which is fine because he gets experience.  But a friend of his from acting class is the lead.  She is a cutie pie.

Here is a picture on set. Sorry they are a little hazy – the sun was coming in on me!

Hope you all are having a great weekend and thanks for reading!

Some of my favorites…

One of the other bloggers that I read posted a challenge on her blog and I kinda wanted to follow.  Of course, it wants you to post pictures of a group or groups.  But I always feel bad about posting pictures of someone without asking permission.  So I am going to post a few of my favorite pictures that I have taken through the years.

The first one I am posting is from a trip to Walmart.  Of course, I am a sucker to look at the clearance section.  All I can say is, thats pretty cheap to become SUPER MACHO!!!  Wonder what the price was for just plain ole macho??

IphoneSep302014 012

The next one is about 3 years ago when I was taking my son trick-or-treating.  He walked and walked and walked and got kisses from every dog in the neighborhood.  At one point, he looked over at me and said, “Im tired!” and just sat down in someones driveway.  Ummmmm, ok Mr!!  Just have a seat then. HEHEHE  He sat for about two minutes and was ready to go.  Loved the neighborhood too.  Every street had someone who was giving out little bottles of water straight from an iced cooler.  Nice cool water in FL – SCORE!

Then, its not that these are my favorites – but one of my favorite guys are in these.  We just had sons headshots done.  These are now his new professional pictures that will be used during auditions.

So, the originator of the challenge asked for a ping back to  his site, and I had to look it up how to do it. lol  This is his site!  Check it out.  Hopefully I did that right.

We are on our way to the pool.  Have an awesome day everyone and thanks for reading.

Folding rugs? That doesnt sound right!

Hello!  Hope your day is going well.  I feel like I have been running all darn day.  We had things we had to go get today from Walmart – my most favorite place on earth (insert eye roll here). While there, I went ahead and bought another panel of the brown, blackout curtains.  I am trying to get it dark in the area where son sleeps so that the morning sun does not wake him up too early.  With more curtains and his new cot for his mattress – he will be snoozing real good soon.  We also had to take something back to home depot.  We had bought too many materials to stop the leak on the slide out.

Speaking of the leak, I think we have it fixed.  I know! Its not the same as buying the materials and paying someone to come over and replace the seals, etc.  But for now – it worked and all we spent was $10.  We used waterproof tape and flashing.  Its not ugly like that huge band aid tarp was. Here is hubby on top taping it up. Lol

After we got back, I had to take all of our sheets, blankets, rugs, etc down to the laundry and wash them. Hubby wanted me to wait until tomorrow to do laundry, but I told him that I wanted to do it now, not then.  On the weekends, the laundry room is full of people.  Sometimes it is just hard to get two washers beside each other and even a few dryers.  Going during the day while everyone is in school and at work – it frees up the laundry room. Lol  Thankfully, our weather is cool again and made going in there bearable. I change our sheets pretty regularly, but our blankets just needed a wash.  It had been about 2 months or so since they had been washed.  Do you wash yours on a regular basis or is it every few months?  Check out the folding job I did on the sheets. Yeah, I needed to gloat a little bit. Lol  My grandma taught me how to fold the fitted sheet properly.  I remember telling her one time that I could never fold the fitted sheet well.  She said, “Well honey, let me teach you how.”  Ok, I will let you. I love my grandma. Hehe  Wish I could see her more often. The fitted sheet is on the bottom in the picture.  Hint:  its tucking all the corners into one.image

My dad had put down rugs in the camper when he first got it.  I left them here and use them.  They help cut down on the dirt that we drag in.  I have been doing a few things around the outside as well. I am not ready to show what I have done, but this will be something I write about at a later time. Maybe a few days or so.  I did buy a welcome mat to put at the foot of the stairs to also help with the dirt coming in.  One thing I have noticed is that this little home gets dirty FAST!!  I think I have to sweep every day. UGH!  Lolimage

What is everyone doing for this weekend? I think we are going to take son to an open audition.  We also have a filming to go to later this month for the series he was cast in.  We hope and pray it gets picked up.  I know it is supposed to show on the local educational channel in Broward Co. FL, but would love for it to be picked up and shown elsewhere.  Here is the facebook link if anyone wants to go on and like it or look it over.  https://www.facebook.com/Ted-the-Trainman-431101517074729/?fref=ts

Well, I STILL have a few things to do around here.  I want to get some things taken care of while hubby is at work so that we can have the whole weekend to enjoy.  Thanks for reading!!
